So, has the dust settled on the ‘Safe Harbour’ EU ruling?

safe harbour

….perhaps so, but the vulnerability of customers of US solution providers is still a concern for many UK organisations. On 6th October, Europe’s highest court ruled that the ‘Safe Harbour’ agreement, used by US firms to transfer personal data from Europe to the US, is invalid. This directly affects any customer of an American-owned Emergency Notification Solution because it removes the data protection that employees expect their employers to maintain.

This judgement does not affect RapidReach customers. Enera is a UK registered company with our headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. Our UK customers’ data is stored in our secure UK data centre, and we have a backup secure data centre in Gothenburg. As a European company, we are happy to sign up to any EU model contract clauses that you wish to insert into your contract/s.
